Empty justifications: the art of making excuses for nothing.

Here are a few examples:

• I'm late because I was waiting for the bus... in 1987.
• I'm tired because I stayed up late watching reruns of 'Days of our lives'.
• I'm broke because I bought a timeshare in a parallel universe.

And here's one from an Empty Prophet: "I'm a prophet because I predicted the apocalypse... in 2001."
